VANCOUVER – Members of Canada`s largest United Steelworkers (ETC) offices have ratified a new collective agreement with Telus. In the decision to be considered, the arbitrator found that a union`s exclusive bargaining agency granted him the right to represent workers with respect to all conditions of employment, including accommodation applications. The conciliator had considered evidence of bargaining that the union had repeatedly attempted to become more involved in the accommodation process under the collective agreement, but these proposals were rejected by the employer.
